Shift Happens
Shift Happens

You know the saying, “Shit happens?” We’ve all used it, or at least heard it—usually when things go sideways and we need to shrug off whatever just hit the fan. It’s a coping mechanism, a shorthand for accepting the chaos of life. When we mess up. When we fail. When we say the wrong thing. When someone betrays our trust. When we lose.
But recently, I was reminded of a twist on that phrase from a mentor of mine. They said, “Shift happens.” And I’ve been chewing on that one ever since.
It hit different. It wasn’t just clever wordplay—it was perspective.
Because yes, sometimes things fall apart. But what if that’s just the start of a shift? A shift in direction. A shift in mindset. A shift in purpose. Life isn’t just about the chaos; it’s about what we do next.
We shift gears. We shift into full throttle. We don’t just survive—we adapt, we transform. We move.
Shift happens. And when it does, we find new strength. We discover that we’re more than the setback—we’re the comeback.
