Three days a week while at work, I love to wander over to the taco truck we have in our large parking lot. Taco Michelle’s. Delicious, classy, old school, best street tacos.
Juan and his family run the 4-wheeled food machine and never disappoint.
“Hola, amigo! What ya getting?” The question I always get with that super thick accent. It’s music, a kind comforting joy to the ears. Family. I always get 4 tacos with meat, cheese, and light onion. Oh, yes! And pineapple water. I am such a gringo. My partner is laughing while reading this, I guarantee that.
Love you, Mateo. You culture me every day, senorito. :)
Anyways. While sitting in the covered waiting area, warm UV lamps from the ceiling cast a gentle light onto me, like a friendly sun.
I’m just listening to the traffic wiz by, Norris is at my feet relaxing, enjoying the smells while people chat in English and Spanish.
Today was busier than usual, so, I took that opportunity to just exist. Listen, smell, breathe, and embrace the elements as they came. No resistance. No pushback. No desire to look at my phone, well, given especially that Facebook is deleted and gone, all pleasant.
I’m jamming to some smooth jazz while writing this in the office, as well. Lunch time always gives me space to expand my thoughts and reflect on the positives.
Just took a moment to look at the song/artist.
Dee Brown – More than Real
Love that title, and how it vibes. Gentle grooves, warm clean lead guitar with the neck pickup on max, and smooth keys playing out some supportive cords.
Can’t forget the tenor sax, though.
Anyways. Enjoy your day, embrace these moments without hesitation. You’re in control.
