Bio
Short bio (50 words)
Tony Gebhard is a totally blind multi-instrumentalist and solo rock artist based in Medford, Oregon. With 19 releases spanning rock, metalcore, alternative, Latin, and R&B, Tony brings high-energy performances and unfiltered storytelling to every room — turning every show into a moment people remember.
Medium bio
Tony Gebhard is a totally blind multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and solo rock artist based in Medford, Oregon. Originally from Jenison, Michigan, he’s been playing guitar since middle school and has released 19 albums and singles under his own label, TG Studios — from the metalcore roots of Father Forgive Me (2016) to the Latin and Caribbean-tinged Seaside, the summer tapes, all the way to his most personal record yet, The Real Me.
Tony’s solo set flexes with the room — acoustic and intimate for cafes and listening rooms, full electric energy for bars and openers, and a hybrid of music and storytelling for community events that need a little more heart. He uses his blindness openly on stage as a way to connect with people who are hurting and navigating something heavy in their own lives. His ask is simple: warm conversation after the show.
Long bio
Tony Gebhard lost his sight to a retinal condition in childhood. He found music shortly after — first the guitar, then drums, bass, piano, and production. By eighth grade he was fronting his first band; by his twenties he was writing, performing, recording, and engineering full albums entirely on his own at TG Studios using Logic Pro X.
Across 19 releases, Tony has moved fluidly between metalcore, alternative rock, hard rock, Latin, R&B, and electronica — but every record carries the same throughline: honesty about what it costs to keep showing up. Themes of recovery, faith, identity, and perseverance run through albums like Soldier (a 21-track journey recorded across Idaho, Alaska, and Michigan during COVID-19), Never Ending, and his most recent and most personal release, The Real Me.
Beyond the music, Tony hosts The Tony Gebhard Show, a podcast featuring blind and low-vision community members, assistive technology innovators, and change-makers. He also created NVDA Coach, a free open-source screen reader training tool now in use internationally with localizations in Spanish, Russian, Turkish, and Greek. He plays anywhere from intimate cafes to festival side-stages — always solo, always honest, always with his guide dog Norris nearby.
